Sustainable Donation and Financing Policies


Dokuz Eylul University is a global, outward-looking university and its core teaching and research goals are significantly supported by research funding. The investment financing of Dokuz Eylül University is provided from the treasury and own income sources.

Research opportunities at our university, are not only self-income supported projects (Scientific Research Projects Budget -BAP), but also the projects can be supported by Presidency Strategy and Budget Department, TUBITAK (Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Council), TÜSEB (Turkish Health Institutes), Ministry of Industry and Technology, Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry, İzmir Development Agency, and Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency. International outsourcing financing, such as European Union Projects, is also utilized by the researchers.

Funds are accepted from various sources at Dokuz Eylul University and these resources are used to realize the mission of the University which is; “To increase the economic, cultural and social wealth of humanity through education and scientific research”. Funds from donations contribute to many different areas, from scholarships and teaching assignments to funding existing or new facilities, particularly research projects. The University takes great care to ensure that funding does not affect academic freedom, create potential conflicts of interest, or damage the University’s reputation. As well as taking into account reputational issues and the far-reaching interests of the University, funds from donations and their use are reviewed by the University in the light of its responsibilities. For this reason, provided that donation funds are accepted in line with the provisions of the legislation to which the Institution is bound; It is requested or accepted if it will not have an impact on the decision-making systems of the University, will not interfere with the teaching and research objectives, will not damage the reputation of the University, and will not cause the University or any of its members to engage in illegal, inappropriate or unethical behavior.

In this context, our University declares to comply with the requirements of the following Laws on the way to accept and use donations and financing:
